How to Order Pizza for a Large Group
Whenever we have a large gathering of people, one of the favorite things to order is pizza. This is because pizza is readily available almost anywhere, and you can even have it delivered to your doorstep in a short amount of time. This is especially popular amongst the younger adults, as more often than not they would usually rather order out than cook something themselves. Pizza is also a very efficient solution for these large groups as cooking food yourself would take an ungodly amount of time, and it will most likely cost more than simply ordering a couple of boxes.
But what are the things to take into account when you’re ordering pizza for a lot of people? Obviously, you would need to think of the number of boxes you need to get. But you also need to take into account why you gathered in the first place. Is it just an informal meeting of friends to catch up over dinner and a movie at home? Or is it a house party in celebration of a milestone, and pizza is what you pair with your drinks? You also need to consider if people are going to be staying long, as the longer people stay, the bigger the chances are that they will get hungry again after a while.
A favorite option especially in our fair city is to order a big pie at a place like Calda Pizza CDO, and then have different toppings on top of different parts of the pizza. But if you want to have other options, here are some suggestions, as well as some factors to consider when ordering pizza for a big group:
Find the best possible pizza place
A lot of you may be scratching your heads at this one and think that it’s quite obvious that you would order from a good pizza joint. But take a moment and consider this: most of the time, if you want to order pizza just for the heck of it, you would just choose any old parlor that’s convenient, because pizza is always going to taste good, right? But remember, you are ordering this for a lot of people. It would make a good impression if you order from an establishment that would impress them, and sometimes, that place isn’t your favorite pizza parlor. Take into account their tastes as well, and then get a general consensus or a majority vote on which place to order from.
Calculate exactly how much pizza you really need
Of course, before you’re able to calculate just how much pizza you really need, you need at the very least an approximate of how many people are going to attend. You can base this on how many people confirmed that they’re coming to your little shindig, but also remember that you should aim a bit high because too much pizza (though the very existence of such a concept is debatable) is always better than too little. Once you have an estimate, a nifty little trick is to multiply the number of attendees by 3/8 to know how many pizzas you should order.
This is with the assumption that each person is going to get an average of 3 slices per pie. So if you are expecting 50 people, you need to order at least 19 boxes of pizza (50 x 3/8 or .375 = 18.75), and then round up to be on the safe side. If you’re not so good at math, they’ve got this thing called a calculator that’s actually pretty good with stuff like that.
Consider a variety of toppings
As mentioned before, you need to consider the varying tastes of the people who are coming over to eat. Some might be allergic to some things, some might be vegetarian, some might not eat pizza with this certain topping, etc. Most of the time, it’s simply not possible to know what each and every single person in your group wants on top of the pizza. So the best thing to do would be to get a variety of toppings for each pie. Some places even offer two different kinds of toppings on each half of a pie, so it would be great if you could take advantage of this.
